Widow forgives man who killed her husband

Video: Paul Spiteri Lucas

The widow of the snorkeller killed by a boat propeller on Sunday said today she forgives the person who hit him.

Charles Brignone went missing after a snorkelling trip and he was found yesterday morning. His float was found on Sunday.

Speaking to timesofmalta.com, Josianne Brignone hoped that people would learn from this tragedy - that owners of seacraft would respect snorkellers more to avoid tragedies that shattered families, and that snorkellers would be responsible while out at sea.

She said she did not know what happened, whether the boat was too close to shore of if her husband was too far out, but she forgave the person who hit him.

“I do not think he did it on purpose and if he knows that he hit him I pray to God to comfort him.”

The funeral is tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cospicua.

you are jumping the gun as they say it in english, this brave woman said it herself, she dont know if the boat was too near shore or her husband was too far out.
god give strenght to this lady to get through the rest of her life without the man that she loved so much.

A Camilleri.......but he had a marker buoy with him......so it's a matter if it was within 20 meters close to him, and not whether he was far out or not.

I used to work with Josianne at Mater Dei Hospital.Josianne is a very responsible and hard working woman. She loved her husband and son Romario dearly.Josianne may God help you and Mary guide you during this hard time. I promise you my prayers and your husband may he rest in peace.I admire your feelings towards those who might have caused his death. It shows how strong you are.
