GINGELL LITTLEJOHN. On August 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Sarah née Elgar and Matthew, God’s precious gift of a daughter – HANNAH, and a son – SEBASTIAN. Deo Gratias et Mariæ.

GRECH MIFSUD. Into our arms and into our hearts, MAYA was born on June 13. A first-born daughter, welcomed with love by Rachel Mifsud and James Grech. Special heartfelt thanks to all the professionals, especially our midwife, for her emotional and physical support.

MONTALTO. On July 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Graziella née Debrincat and Ignazio, God’s most precious gift of a daughter – SELENE, a most welcome sister to Thomas Philip. Thanks to the obstetrician, the paediatrician, midwives, nurses and all the staff at Obstetrics 1. Special thanks to midwives Stephanie Rapa and Pauline Borg and to all the dedicated maternity staff at the hospital.

ZAMMIT LUPI. On July 27, at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK, to Anna née Watson and Colin, God’s most precious gift of a daughter – NATALIE ANGELA.

CATANESE. On August 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMEN, née Vella, aged 87, widow of Vincenzo, from Balzan, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brother Josie and his wife Carmen, her nephews and nieces Denis and Theresa Vella, Irene and Andrew Muscat, Eric and Katya Vella and their son Ethan, Chlothar Roth, Roland and Brigitte Roth and their daughters Leonie and Violetta, relatives, neighbours and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for The Annunciation parish church, Balzan, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No Flowers by request but donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Malta will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.

ELLUL. On August 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, DR JOSEPH W. ELLUL (a.k.a. JoJo) of Marsascala, husband of the late Marlene née Cost Chretien, died suddenly and peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his beloved children Anne Marie Grima and Jonathan, and their respective spouses Joseph and Anjelica, his dearly beloved grandchildren Sean, Petra, Erica and Amy, his sisters Marlene, wife of the late Dr Joe Fenech, Manola and her husband Franco Masini, Sylvana and her husband Joachim Wihl, his brother Dr Lawrence Ellul and his wife Josette, and Joan, wife of his late brother Ivan, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said on Tuesday at 2.30 p.m. at Marsascala parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Lord grant him eternal rest.

On August 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY née Cini, aged 85, widow of Francis Saver, residing at Tarxien, passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children Judith and her husband Dr Antoine Fiott, Miriam and her husband Toni Cini, Felix and his wife Claudia Schembri Heitmann, Rosanne Schembri and Sylvana and her husband Felix Galea, grandchildren, spouses, partners, great-grandchildren, her sisters Rita Micallef, Mabel Cini and her brother Vince Cini, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9 a.m. for St Augustine church, Tarxien, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Addolorata cemetery. ZAMMIT. On August 3, WINNIE, née Waters, aged 77, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Andrew, her treasured daughters Maria, wife of Hermann Borg Xuereb and Gillian, wife of James Vassallo, her loving brother John, her adored grandchildren Eleanor and Marcus and all her relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 8.45 a.m. at St Gregory parish church, Sliema, followed by interment at Luqa cemetery. Lord grant her eternal rest. The family would like to thank the staff at Mater Dei and Boffa hospitals for their dedication and care.

He leaves to mourn his loss his children Jane and her husband Sandro Purpura, Antoinette and her husband Cornelius Mulvaney, Joe and his wife Mariuccia, Catherine (Rina) and her husband Louis Aquilina, Miriam (Max) and her husband Paul Deguara Caruana Gatto, all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his sister Mary Pawley, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30 p.m. for St John of the Cross parish church, Ta’ Xbiex, where a Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery.
