Dynamic Music Factory (DMF) will be staging the 2012 edition of the annual Gozo Music Festival this week. The festival has become a popular and eagerly-awaited event on the local music calendar and this ninth year aims to be bigger, better and fresher with a new concept and a great line-up.

Taking full advantage of their international network, DMF are presenting a double surprise by staging two editions; the Gozo festival which will take place at the uniquely picturesque La Grotta in Xlendi, and the Malta edition, which will be held on August 18 at the Buskett Roadhouse.

The line-up for the Gozo Music Festival will feature a widely-appealing choice of bands and artists, including top local acts such as Red Electrick, Maltese hiphop sensation Hooligan and Malta’s representative at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest Kurt Calleja as well as UK artist Sonique.

There will be live performances by Beatles and Pink Floyd tribute bands and DJ sets from Chris of Funky Town 90’s and El Gringo.

The night will be hosted by popular TV show host Angie Laus. Tickets for this event cost €15 and are available by calling 9921 8177 or 7979 1177.

Red Electrick will also be performing at the first-ever Malta edition of the festival. Along with performances from Floren (of Chordust) and DJ sets from Chris, El Gringo and Portuguese DJ El Caos, they will be firing up the atmosphere for the two international acts that will take the stage later at Buskett Roadhouse.

The first of the international acts is legendary Scottish hard rock band Nazareth, whose long list of successes includes classics like Love Hurts, This Flight Tonight and My White Bicycle. The band released its latest album Big Dogz last year to great critical acclaim and chart success in various European countries.

The festival will also feature well-known Dutch party band Hermes House Band, an international success with top hits like Country Roads, Live is Life and Please Don’t Go.

Tickets for the Malta Edition cost €30 with a number of VIP tickets available at €50. The VIP area will have a separate entrance, free finger food, a separate bar and tables, while the restaurant will also be open for those who wish to enjoy the show while dining.

Tickets are available by calling 9921 8177 or from all Franks Perfumery outlets, Kapitali Restaurant (Valletta), La Cubana (San Ġwann), BJ’s (Paceville) and Mr Signs (Gozo).
