Bats for Alternative Obsessions event

To date they’ve brought us Random Hand, Jaya the Cat and The Skints – all three top-notch events offering an explosive mix of ska, reggae and punk. Now, after a well-deserved break, Alternative Obsessions are back with their latest event as Cancer Bats, one of the biggest hardcore punk bands around, make their way to Malta from their Canadian homeland via some of Europe’s top festivals.

Fuelled by a burning desire to rage harder, play louder and have more fun than any other band, Cancer Bats mix hardcore, Southern metal and punk rock into a lethal rock ’n’ roll explosion.

Having already graced the main stages at top festivals – from Download to Hellfest and Rock am Ring to Reading, Leeds and the Gods of Metal festival – it’s now time for Malta to experience the full power of Cancer Bats in the flesh.

The event will be held on August 22 at V-Gen, Ball Street, Paceville. Local acts Club Murder and Waking Up Dinosaurs will also be performing. Advance tickets cost €12 (€15 at the door) and are available from Punky Fish and Vivas in Valletta, from V-Gen or through the Alternative Obsessions website.
