The fishing village of Marsaxlokk came alive tonight to celebrate tuna, in a feast  organised by the Fundazzjoni Maltija tal-Produtturi fl-Akwakultura.

The feast was part of a campaign the Rural Affairs Ministry has undertaken to increase knowledge on fresh local products.

Visitors could taste fresh tuna cooked in different ways by professional chefs and could buy the fish at a special price for the occasion.

There were information stands and an exhibition on the fish farmed at the Aquaculture Research Centre in San Lucjan.

Boat trips to the tuna farms just outside Marsaxlokk were also organised.
