A total of €78,000 were collected by 10.30 p.m. in the 10th Ohloq Tbissa marathon, being held at St Joseph Home in Sta Venera.

The 60-hour marathon, launched by President George Abela yesterday, aims to raise missionary awareness and funds in aid of missions in the care of MSSP as well as for St Joseph Home. Another aim is to raise money for evangelisation through the media.

The marathon, which ends tomorrow at midnight, was this morning visited by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Opposition leader Joseph Muscat.

Donations can be sent on tel. 5160 2004 (€10), 5170 2007 (€15), or 5180 2009 (€25) or by SMS on 5061 8099 (€4.66).
