A baby, a girl and three women requiring medical assistance were among a group of 91 migrants brought in to Malta yesterday evening.

The Armed Forces of Malta had received a report that there was a boat, possibly carrying irregular migrants, about 30 nautical miles south of Malta.

It sent an aircraft to the area and located the dinghy heading north. An AFM patrol boat was then dispatched to pick the migrants up.

There were 24 women aboard and three of them were taken to hospital on arrival.
