Wall about to fall (1)
May I kindly bring to the attention of the Civil Protection Department, the police and the central government, the dangerous wall at Xemxija Hill which is crumbling and will definitely cause a fatality at any moment.
This danger can be eliminated if one of the above mentioned authorities intervenes and the dangerous wall is replaced by large concrete blocks as was done on the lower part of the same wall.
The photograph of this wall, which is situated half way up Xemxija Hill, speaks louder than words.
It is of paramount importance that a new and sound wall is erected before the first rains and floods arrive as there might be a disaster.

I wonder how long it will take before this piece of Maltese heritage falls down and someone with friends is allowed to replace it with another piece of high-rise ugliness ?

This same wall has been crumbling for the last 20 years. In Winter it is double jeopardy because of the rains and if in case you have not noticed, nobody gives a damn. Not the Local Council and not the incompetent Transport Malta. If the owners are not willing fix this wall then Transport Malta should in the public's safety interest and send the bill to the owners. I remember long time ago when that same Villa was in mint condition and the Jesuits used to use it. It is very sad to see property like this abandoned.

Again, I'd like to air my disgust as I did many a time for the authorities that be who are responsible for these state of affairs. I mean this is a clear proof of the indifference being shown where these things are concerned. Yesterday there was this letter about a tree which was blocking a traffic sign. Tomorrow it could be something to do with a pavement or road. For crying out loud, we've been in the EU what, 8 years, now? Are we to continue thus, taking things as if nothing matters and of no concern at all? A case in point is the way the local councils and the contractors involved try to repair a pothole. One can watch them as the workers literally throw some of the asphalt mix from the bag into the hole. Then one or two of the workers hit the mix repeatedly with a spade. And that's it! No road roller, no nothing! I ask, is this how things ought to be done? Did we learn nothing since we joined the EU?

This magnificent house ( Xemxija hill on the left side ) has been allowed to fall into a state of great disrepair.
It may now be too late to save the whole building – a loss to our heritage.
The whole building and the outside wall pose a safety threat - besides being an eyesore

Sir ,
This wall has been in this sorry state of disrepair for many years and as usual we will be reactive as opposed to pro-active and wait for a serious incident to occur before doinmg anything about the situation and also, as per usual, no one will assume responsibility for remedying the situation and all will say that it falls outwith their remit to address.
