Now and then, we see published information about how many surgical operations and suchlike are being carried out.

Most of the readers would be more concerned about other matters that can cut the waiting time by more than half, or to zero, within a few weeks.

The hospital has invested in MRI equipment. Yet, the list is endless with patients waiting to be called for an appointment.

For how many hours a day is this equipment in use? If I am correct, they only do a normal shift. If there could be some arrangement to make better use of this costly piece of equipment most patients will surely be delighted, would suffer less pain and can expect to be cured in a shorter time.

Unfortunately, unions are often there to obstruct. If the Health Minister is really interested in solving this issue, then, he should employ foreigners until the backlog is cleared.

The equipment should be used 24 hours a day and run at a profit. Being idle for 16 hours is certainly money invested down the drain.
