The Planning and Priorities Co-ordination Department has launched a call for project proposals to be part-financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund 2007-2013.
This call for projects falls under Priority Axis I of the Operational Programme I ‘Investing in Competitiveness for a Better Quality of Life’.
Priority Axis I is themed ‘Enhancing Knowledge and Innovation’ and its focus area is investment in RTDi and RTDI-related infrastructure and ICT.
Priority Axis I’s specific objective is to support Malta’s efforts in becoming a knowledge-based, competitive economy.
This Priority Axis aims at supporting Malta’s quest in the creation of a strategic framework and the establishment of an underlying soft and hard infrastructure including the build-up of the necessary human capital.
This call is restricted to public entities which focus on the priority objective to support science and technology-related investments in the formal and informal education streams including infrastructure to increase the S&T cohort in the long-term.
The total indicative financial threshold is of €12 million. This call is restricted to projects which do not encompass state aid implications and is open until September 17 at noon. The managing authority may award more projects should it deem them to be appropriate and in line with the objectives of the operational programme.
