Deloitte Malta has sponsored New Leaf, the non-profit organisation which preserves and digitises books at the National Library of Malta.

New Leaf aims to preserve books at The National Library with specialists and equipment, convert the National Library’s hand-written library cards to a database, organise book cleaning training, convert the out-dated cassette-based audio books to MP3, publicise the need for volunteers and promote the use of the national and public libraries.

This sponsorship is part of Deloitte’s ongoing corporate social responsibility programme and its Green Agenda initiative.

“Having the support of Deloitte Malta gives our supporters a confidence boost,” New Leaf chairman Monique Chambers said. “We are hoping that companies and people offer support under their CSR programmes, in terms of financial and time donations. There are numerous books that need attention.”
