Classic Group has been nominated to represent Malta as a national finalist in the 2012-13 European Business Awards.

The group, home to Classic Jewellers, Diamonds International and the recently launched Hebe, overcame stiff competition from several local organisations to compete for an award at the finals ceremony next April.

“Throughout the past year we have undergone an ambitious management restructuring process, creating a leaner organisational structure where decisions are taken sooner,” Classic Group chairman Paul Fenech said.

“This restructuring has helped us consolidate our efforts and create a company that can rise to the challenges of the present market conditions. The awards identified some of Europe’s brightest businesses based on their ability to demonstrate innovation, business excellence and sustainability. These three principles, with our employees, are core to Classic Group.”

The European Business Awards are dedicated to raising the visibility and progress of companies which excel in delivering innovation, with successful commercial results, acting responsibly and positively affecting the social environment they operate in. The 2011 European Business Awards showcased organisations with a combined turnover of €1 trillion, and employing more than 2.7 million people across the continent.
