Doumbia: Wolves have signed Mali international Tongo Doumbia on a season-long loan from Rennes. The 6ft 3in midfielder moves to Molineux with a view to a permanent deal having completed a medical on Friday.
ELM: CSKA Moscow have signed Sweden international midfielder Rasmus Elm from AZ Alkmaar on a three-year contract. The 24-year-old Elm has won 25 caps and scored one goal for his country. Last year CSKA signed another Sweden international midfielder, Pontus Wernbloom, also from AZ Alkmaar.
Alvarez: The agent of Ricky Alvarez dismissed reports that the Inter midfielder will be leaving San Siro this summer for a move to Catania. “The possibility of such a move does not exist,” Marcelo Simonian said.
Free ride: Ross County have offered to pay for Motherwell fans to make the 370-mile round trip to their SPL opener on Saturday. Motherwell fans can travel free of charge on any official supporters’ association coaches. Motherwell chief executive Leeann Dempster said: “This is a clear demonstration of clubs in the SPL working together and showing solidarity in difficult financial times.”
Baup: Marseille’ coach Elie Baup has been charged with making fraudulent claims for unemployment benefits after he was sacked by Nantes in 2009. Baup was charged with receiving unemployment benefit at the same time as he was being paid as a TV pundit.
Parma: Parma will complete the signing of Roma’s Aleandro Rosi and Stefano Okaka this week. Reports said midfielder Rosi, 25, is set to join on a loan deal while Okaka, 23, will be signed outright.
Ramirez: Liverpool are the latest club to join the hunt for Bologna playmaker Gaston Ramirez. The Reds are prepared to table a €20m offer for the 21-year-old who is also on the radar of Inter and Juventus.
