Dangerous trees, shrubs
Why are large shrubs or trees planted up to the very end of central strips of the majority of our road intersections and roundabout approaches? These obstrust drivers’ visibility from vehicles approaching from the right and, in my humble opinion, constitute a real and unnecessary danger. Could Transport Malta voice an opinion on this matter?

There is very little that is COMMON or SENSE, emanating from Transport Malta, in support of genuine "Road Safety" issues. The headlong thrust of making new roads with less vehicle capacity, than the old road being replaced, is quite simply a recipe for disaster, especially when combined with a raised central strip, which will ensure long hold-ups, and angry drivers, in the event of breakdown or accident in one of the lanes. There is, for sure, going to be impatient people with 4x4 "tanks" who will simply force their way across these central islands, forcing others to make way and creating even more anger and frustration to be added to the scenario.
With regard to signage,it is an absolute disgrace and in total disarray, it is my firm belief that there is an entire Government department dedicated to the complete and utter breakdown of the smooth flow of traffic, there can be no other sensible conclusion reached due to the utter chaos that is now extant in the daily commute throughout these islands. Of course if you are of lofty rank within government circles this chaos does not affect you, since there will be a policecade supplied to ensure your timely progress through this government created chaos. Not so for the rest of us hoi-poloy who actually pay our taxes for the privilege of this traffic problem, we have to suffer in silence and be supposedly grateful to an absolutely useless Governmental Administration which has brought us to be a source of amused anecdotes from visitors and locals alike, many of whom make reference the "lunar" features when roads are spoken about.

The shrubs are planted close to the roads to give the Maltese boy (and other) racers a soft landing when they crash.

Good point
This also applies to Road Signs --- often placed at eye level-- obstructing the drivers line of vision
More needs to be done as regards road safety

I have been writing about this subject for ages. In fact I complained about a roundabout in Cospicua and action was taken the day after. This is plain common sense and doesn't need an expert or a geniusto realise the danger the bushes may cause.

Who decides to do such stupid things, causing a rethink & the spending of more money to correct ? The people with a lack of common sense should not be allowed anywhere near to making decisions; in fact they should be sacked plus sent somewhere to educate them into learning , then using common sense.in their next job.
