Costa Coffee opens at MIA

Coffee Company Malta Ltd has just opened its first Costa Coffee shop – one of the world’s top five coffee shop chains – at the check-in lounge of Malta’s International Airport.

Costa was founded by Italian brothers Sergio and Bruno Costa in London in 1971.

Costa was the first coffee shop chain to commit to sourcing beans from the Rainforest Alliance. All Costa Coffee comes from 100 per cent RFA certified farms.

Costa franchise director (Europe) Ralph Llanwarne said: “We are very excited about opening our first store in Malta.”General manager Robert Buttigieg said: “This is a first for Malta and we are thrilled to be part of it. We are working hard to make sure we live up to the excellent Costa Coffee reputation worldwide.”

The Coffee Company Malta Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Buttigieg Holdings Limited which is 50 per cent owned by Island Hotels Group plc.
