A scheme to help children with disabilities gain skills for employment and independent living is being run by a charity.
Caudwell Children will deliver the ASDAN programme, a multi-activity initiative which offers disabled children the opportunity to experience activities aimed at developing their skills.
It will take place at Bridge Short Stay School on Wissage Road, in Lichfield throughout August. The ASDAN accreditation offers qualifications for those with learning difficulties and helps disabled children gain skills for employment and skills for independent living.
Activities will include circus skills, a DJ workshop, football coaching, animal workshop and electronic orienteering.
Trudi Beswick, chief executive of Caudwell Children, said: “We have been delivering ASDAN workshops since 2011 and we have seen the huge difference the programme can make to children with disabilities.
“More than 100 children have completed the ASDAN project with Caudwell Children so far and we have seen fantastic results.
“ASDAN offers a fun and exciting way to learn for children who find mainstream education difficult.”
Caudwell Children provide treatment, and family support services for sick and disabled children throughout the UK.
