A 50-year-old man from Senglea was this afternoon jailed for two years after he pleaded guilty to a string of thefts.

Carmel Mugliett was charged with stealing thousands of euros worth of cash, jewellery and other objects from residences in Rabat, Balzan, Lija and Fgura and from a shop in Hamrun.

He also pleaded not guilty to attempting a theft from a residence in Rabat, damaging other people’s property and being a relapse.
