A Mass for the repose of the soul of PEPPE DINGLI, on the trigesima die of his passing away, will be celebrated today at 7 p.m. at Santa Caterina d’Italia church, Valletta. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

Obituary

BUSUTTIL. On July 24, at Mater Dei hospital, ROBERT, aged 80, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his wife Lina and children Anthony, Doreen and James, and their partners Lara and Fiona; his grandchildren Alan and his wife Pia, Romina, Alison and her husband Mark, Matthew and their mother Miriam; Mandy and her husband John, and Debbie; Sean, Karl and their mother Lynda; Adam together with his great-grandchildren Alana, Ella, Kane, Mia, Nina and Isis; his sisters Mary, Doris, Anna, their spouses and families. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday and Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. at Ibraġ parish church. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

DEGUARA. On July 24, at the Holy Family Home, Naxxar, JOSEPH, aged 95, widower of Mary, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children the Hon. Dr Louis Deguara and his wife Dr Maria; Peter Paul and his wife Marthese; John and his wife Manuelita; his grandchildren Dr Christopher and his wife Dr Simone; Ann Marie, Mauro and Jean Claude; his great-grandchild Luigi; nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves the Holy Family Home, Naxxar, on Friday at 8.15 a.m. for Our Lady of Victories parish church, Naxxar, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.45 a.m. followed by interment at Naxxar cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

XUEREB. Treasured memories of Professor PETER XUEREB, MD, today the 49th anniversary of his death. Fondly remembered by his daughters Mafine and Laura and their families. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Fundraising BBQ

The Westin Dragonara Resort, for the second year running, will be hosting a fundraising BBQ in aid of cystic fibrosis sufferers

The event will be held at the Westin Reef Club on August 8 at 8 p.m. and aims to surpass the amount of €14,700 raised last year. The lavish BBQ costs €28 per person including a half bottle of wine.

Cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system.

At the moment there is no cure for this condition and the life span is 37 years. Donations for cystic fibrosis research can be made to http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/runningforacure .
