When the new US ambassador started her work, she mentioned human trafficking as one of her concerns. I dismissed her comment at the time as being out of touch with local issues and priorities, but articles like this make me thing there is indeed something along these lines going on.

PM Graham - Tanya and Christabell have been found. Or at least this is what you can find on the internet regarding them:

So two foreigners missing, two maltese girls are found.

Four girls in the month of July!! I just assumed Tania and Christabel had been found.
It seems to me more effort should be put into reporting this than the childish antics of the politicians.
Malta is a small Island, someone must know something.
What is actually being done to find them? I just can't imagine the nightmare their parents are living in.
@Malicia Dabrowicz you missed one very important point: PARENTS!! Know where your children are at all times.

Instead of all the speculation we better keep our eyes peeled and hopefully spot the two missing girls.

Guys, two language students are missing.
What we can do is to print out the photos of the girls and put them in our villages, bars, kazins, perhaps they have been seen. There are also few things that can make any person safer and we can share them too:
- always have a cell phone with a credit on it
- do not walk home alone especially when on the night out and in remote places, always go in a large group, share a taxi if needed
- always tell somebody where you are going and what time you will be back. If you overstay, send a text, update your facebook, make a tweet. Whatever is available.
- do not accept drinks from complete strangers, keep your drink to yourself, do not leave your glass unattended.
- do not leave with complete strangers,
- do not allow to be taken out by strangers, even if you are feeling sick, go and look for help at the bar, asks for ambulance, stay in the club, much safer inside than outside at the mercy of a person you don't know.
- do not accept lifts from strangers,
-if somebody bugs you or makes you feel uncomfortable, report them to the bar/management, leave establishment, if they follow, report them to police
- in case of emergency shout "fire" and "help me" or simply "call the police", people tend to respond to those lines quicker
Do take care of another, if you see somebody passed out in the street, help them, don't say it's not my problem.
hope that helps.

I urge everyone to memorize the photos and keep an eye out. Malta is too small for someone not to know something.

As a father of two young girls, this disappearance as well as that of the Russian girl does concern me. Has Malta lost its appeal of being a safe place for a holiday. I cannot imagine the pain of their parents especially when relaxation takes such a tense turn. Apart also I can imagine what a havoc such disappearances will bring on the tourist industry. Action by the authorities needs immediate addressing to these unusal situations in Malta

Not again!!!!!!!! Following my comment of yesterday under Reward for info on Russian Girl can it be clarified if this is another student. Any idea of the time she went missing? Hope that this is not the start of a long list of VANISHING TEENS. Suggest that for the time being some kind of Press Release or again A handout to these teens (Students) by their schools is issued so that Teens do not stay out alone but in groups and not very late at night or up to early hours of the morning i.e.up till 5am as is happening now all through the week not on weekends only especially in the Paceville/ St.Julians/Sliema areas. This at least until these girls are found or return hopefully SAFE AND SOUND.

In addition, may I suggest use of some electronic equipment to help tracking students, and better CCTV surveillance? It's a breach on privacy, I know. But I think it's time to increase security, at least until we learn what's going on. Also, it would be useful if anyone responsible for these people would ensure that accommodations are actually safe, and that key management is safe.

Similars stories happen like this else where in other countries, most of the time the perpetrator is a well dressed nice rich looking man ,the young girls easily fall for his apearance, not so easy to catch him.[Ted Bundy was one of them, he wasted 160 young girls]

Don't you think your comment is of little help to those close to her?! Do you think you are the only one who has these thoughts? Come on, try posting something that encourages those who need to be strong in these hard times instead of worrying statements.....
Hopefully by the time this comment gets published both girls will be home safe and sound!

Maybe by the time I write this, these two girls would have turned up unharmed.
But I am very concerned about anyone going missing, especially foreigners who often end up in the wrong circles and vices.
We must not forget that poor russian young lady who was found dead in the sea in Sliema a few years back. She had been choked and the case was surely fould play, and yet, nothing was solved.

Very rare that people go missing in Malta, let alone 4 young girls all in such a short time frame! Scary indeed.

Hope these two reports on such isolated events are not a coincidence! I trust the police are taking note of these events. hope we hear of good news..... Meanwhile let us all be on the watch out! This island is too small for someone to be missed.
