• Msida parish youth group Passi Wara Kristu is organising a barbecue in aid of the group on Friday at 7.30 p.m. in the parish centre parking area in Johnny Catania Street, Msida. A lottery will be organised with a number of prizes to be won.

• The next meeting of the San Ġorġ Preca Group will be held on Friday at 6.30 p.m. at the MUSEUM headquarters in Blata l-Bajda (entrance next to Preca Library). Young couples and mature adults are especially invited.

• An evening walk at Il-Majjistral nature and history park, led by John Borg, curator of the National Museum of Natural History, will take place on Saturday between 7.45 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. Meeting point is by the Golden Bay bus stop.

• US-Malta friendship group Stars and Stripes Malta will be organising a summer get-together on August 3 at Ta’ Kenuna Restaurant, Nadur. • Il-Majjistral nature and history park, in conjunction with Malta Outdoors, will be holding kayaking sessions at the park on August 1 and 2 at Golden Bay between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

• Il-Majjistral is also teaming up with Sharklab-Malta to offer guided sessions to introduce participants to the joys of snorkelling and the underwater world which lies in just a few metres of water off Golden Bay, part of Rdum Majjiesa Marine Protected Area.

Sessions will be held on August 4 and 18. The fee is €12. If you have your own equipment, the fee is €10. The fees include equipment rented from H20 Divers as well as a fee which will help fundraise for projects at Majjistral Park and for marine research and awareness activities conducted by Sharklab-Malta. The group will meet at Golden Bay between 9.30 a.m. and noon.
