The parents of a missing Russian teenager who vanished a day after she arrived in Malta are offering a reward to whoever provides information leading to their daughter being found.

Nadezhda and Mizanur Rahman are appealing for information which could help them trace their daughter who has been missing since Tuesday.

The parents made their appeal as they arrived in Malta to assist in the search for their only daughter who visited the country to study English.

They said Polina, 17, was last seen in Paceville wearing a red dress and black flat shoes. She is 1.68m tall, of medium build, with dark skin, brown eyes and long black hair. She was carrying a small black bag.

She arrived in Malta last Sunday and attended school on Monday. Later that evening, the girl and her friend, , attended the school’s welcome party.

Later that evening, the two friends split up and she was last seen in the Paceville area at around 4 a.m. She failed to return to the host family where she was residing during her week-long study holiday.

Sources said the police have been searching high and low for the missing teenager, and were scouring CCTV footage. So far, Ms Rahman cannot be seen.

The parents later released a statement appealing to the public to help locate their daughter.

“We hope that your compassion and involvement will help bring our only daughter back,” they said. They said they were prepared to offer a reward to people providing the exact location of their missing girl.

Yesterday, the distraught parents spent most of the day distributing flyers in the St Julian’s area to passers-by and affixing posters of their missing daughter.

Any information about the teenager should be passed on to the police by calling 119 or at a police station. Police yesterday issued the third request for information on the missing teenager.
