Students from Stella Maris College, Gżira, successfully took part in the World Sports Festival in Vienna. Sixty-three students from the school joined over 2,500 athletes from 27 countries in this year’s sixth edition.

The Maltese students took part in eight sporting disciplines. In table tennis, Miguel Pullicino won a bronze medal in the Under-13 category and Nicholas Montebello came third in the Under-16s.

In the Under-16 doubles compe­tition Miguel Pulli­cino and Miguel Montebello won the silver medal while Nicholas Montebello and Jason Borg Millo won the bronze.

In badminton, Luigi Grech won a bronze medal in the Under-16s and then teamed up with Garrett Bonello to claim third place in the Under-16 doubles competition.

Wrestler Neil Farrugia also won a bronze medal in the Under-15, 69-kilo category while bowler Kurt Attard also won the bronze medal in the team event.
