Abacus, the fiduciary and fund services specialist group, is to sponsor the Global Superyacht Forum, one of the major meetings for business leaders in the superyacht industry, at the ARI in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on November 12-14.

The firm will be represented at the event by yachts and aircraft manager Barbara Jolly and Garry Crossan, chief executive officer for Malta.

The event is organised by Superyacht Events, part of The Superyacht Group, and it annually brings together more than 500 industry leaders.

There will be focussed discussions and debates on the key areas anticipated to affect the industry and improve its future.

Abacus director Emer Dowling said Abacus had decided to sponsor the event this year to showcase its growing yachts and aircraft division.

“Following the opening of our Malta office, the Global Superyacht Forum is the ideal platform to promote our yacht services offering and to introduce our key people in this area to other industry professionals.”

With over 30 years’ experience in the industry, Abacus’ yacht services are aimed at owners and their representatives, with a focus on ownership, planning, tax, VAT, administration and yacht operation.

Mr Crossan explained that with offices in the Isle of Man and Malta, the group was present in two of the world’s leading shipping locations, both highly attractive tax jurisdictions with much to offer any yacht owner.

“The Isle of Man and Malta have developed significantly over the past two decades and are renowned for being well regulated, transparent and efficient; supporting their established reputations as financial centres of excellence,” he said.

“With sustained growth and a list of benefits attractive to yacht owners, both look set to continue building on their success in the yachting industry.”
