Singer-songwriter Laura Pausini will be performing in Malta on August 1 as part of her Inedito World Tour concert. The tour kicked off in Milan last December and since then has been enjoying a highly successful run across the globe.

Although the production itself is an Italian endeavour, Pausini has also selected top international professionals to be by her side – starting with director Marco Balich, who created the ceremonies for the Turin Winter Olympics in 2006, and many other major events.

The stage, where a classic Italian production blends with rock aggressiveness, changes continuously during the concert, with each song being highlighted by different effects. For the first time, Pausini will be accompanied by a dance group that will perform choreographies by world-renowned choreographer Nikos Lagousakos.

The performance includes video projections, special effects and video-mapping, which make the show an exceptional event and certainly one the most sophisticated, poetic and all-encompassing performances ever put on the road by an Italian artist.

Gold marks the opening, followed by red for passion; then the stage suddenly turns into an explosion of nature. Costumes, accessories, videos and sets... every single element has been tailor-made for this special occasion by an international team of top quality and experience. The collaboration with British architect Mark Fisher, set designer for Pink Floyd and U2 and creator of one-of-a-kind sets for the Cirque du Soleil, marks the artist’s first ever contribution to an Italian production.

The show includes the creative input of lighting designer Patrick Woodroffe, who has worked with leading pop and rock artists including Bob Dylan, AC/DC, Depeche Mode, Rolling Stones and more.

Celebrated fashion designer Roberto Cavalli and costume specialist Catherine Buyse (who has worked on the set of Star Wars, The Italian Job and The Tourist) will add a touch of glamour to the concert.

Pausini will take to the stage with her backing band led by Paolo Carta on guitar; brothers Emiliano and Matteo Bassi on drums and bass respectively; Bruno Zucchetti on piano and programming; and Robertà Granà with Gianluigi Fazio on backing vocals.

Two new additions to the singer’s time-tested team will be Monica Hill on backing vocals and Nicola Oliva on guitar. The set list includes over30 songs, with popular hits like Surrender, La solitudine, Benvenuto, Non ho mai smesso and many more.

Laura Pausini will perform at the Malta Fairs and Coventions Centre, Ta’ Qali on August 1 at 9.30 p.m. For ticket information call 7979 5579.
