George you are dead wrong!

In the case of the hit-and-run of the Mosta jogger, the driver was found guilty.
All he got was a suspended license for one year, 3 years suspended jail (which means he won't do them) and ordered to pay court proceedings. NONE of which he has even started on, because he's appealing the case. This happened 4 years ago btw.

It pays to follow these things if only to know how badly your chances of seeking justice are, should it happen to you.

Good luck C Muscat!
In the case of the hit-and-run of the 59-year-old jogger from Mosta, the driver was found guilty in court after FOUR years.

Do you mean that there actually are frequent police patrols in St Paul's Bay? I wish I could say the same about Qawra... I live in Qawra Road and every evening sit out on the balcony.... very very rarely do I see a patrol car going by. In my opinion the Qawra Police Station respond very well when required, however we do need constant patrols to discourage these egoistic drivers.

"old man" he was 64 not 94 I to hope that he completely recovers but blame cant always be put on the vehicle drivers some pedestrians have no regard for traffic at times and do try and beat traffice by dashing across a road I am a driver and this has happened to me on several occassions though I am in no way infering that it happened here

@Jennifer Styevens
This was a 'hit and run'.
So yes I would throw the book at any driver who decides to keep going on his merry way.

unfortunately there have been several occassions when I have been driving here in Malta that I have gone across a crossing only to see someone standing on it completly hidden by the fact that a vehicle was parked on the edge of the crossing which is a Traffic offence but how many times do you see a warden do anything about it.......Never

Wonder whether the police would have taken action if you had reported the car registration number to the police.
