MP Joe Mizzi sued for libel

The police yesterday filed criminal libel charges against Labour MP Joe Mizzi and the editor of the party’s news programme ONE News, on a complaint by Richard Cachia Caruana, former ambassador to the EU.

Mr Cachia Caruana claimed comments made by Mr Mizzi during the programme aired last Friday were criminally libellous.

Magistrate Francesco Depasquale has been appointed to hear the case and it is set to begin in the coming days.

What has the Church got to do with all this?

Whom would you suggest to hear the case if not the courts of law? A lynch mob?

Would you recommend Joe Mizzi himself, or his Labour party? These are the ones who never change. Do you remember when the Constitiional Court was rendered inoperative for months and when Judges were moved around in mid-trial if they did not conduct cases according to the desire of the MLP?
