Obituary

D’ALFONSO. On July 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, ROSARIO, former Staff Sergeant of Bomb Disposal Unit, aged 63, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Loved and remembered by his wife M’Dolores née Debono, his son Saviour, his two daughters Jacqueline and Josianne and her husband Anthony Haber, his brothers and sisters and his in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.30 p.m. for St Catherine parish church, Żurrieq, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.15 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Cemetery, Xewkija. No flowers by request, but donations to Puttinu Cares will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

IAVARONE. On July 15 at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, SALVATORE, aged 75, of Ħamrun, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Rosaria (Lucy), his son Pierre and his wife Caroline, their son Stefano and his children, Maria and Amanda, his sisters and brothers Maria, Joe, Charlie, Alex, Mario, their spouses and children, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital at 8.30 a.m. tomorrow for the St Cajetan church in Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

VELLA. On July 13, at St James Hospital, Sliema, SAVIOUR (of Colonial Store, Valletta) passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary née Fenech, his daughter Josette, his son Simon and his wife Stefania, his loving grandsons Mark and Matthew, his sister Mary, his brothers Ġovann and Alfred, his in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Hospital, Sliema today at 8.30 a.m. for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Żabbar Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttino Cares and Hospice Malta will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive any visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

GATT – JOHN. In loving memory, today being the sixth anniversary of his death. So sadly missed by his wife Simone, his children Michael and his wife Sabrina, Louise, and his grandchildren Sean and Emma. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Talk on dementia

The Malta Dementia Society will be holding a talk by Stephen Abela on technology and safety in dementia tomorrow from 6 till 7.30 p.m. at 5, Lion Street, Floriana. All members of the society and the public are invited to attend. Entrance is free of charge.

The late Sue Keate

A short service in memory of Sue Keate will be held at 10, Alley 2, Tad-Dawl Street, Żebbuġ on Friday at 6.30 p.m. The service will be conducted by Canon Simon Godfrey. All friends are welcome.
