And what exactly is taking them so long to make a modern-day version of this classic car just as Fiat, Mini and VW did?!

The Citroen emblem originates from the company's history as a gear manufacturer. The emblem stems from the herringbone type of gearwheel. A single gear wheel with slanted gear teeth produces a axial thrust by default of design, but two opposite gearwheels would nullify this thrust. This type of gear arrangement is also used in engineering applications which require a smooth running transmission of high power/torque.
Good to see the first front wheel drive Citroen Traction Avant !
The French automotive industry has certainly produced some very innovative designs but also cleverly simple and reliable solutions to personalised road transport.
