Michael Camilleri of Nadur recently sat for the LTCL diploma which he passed with a distinction, making him the first Maltese to obtain this diploma.
Camilleri, who started learning the drums at the age of five under the tuition of John Farrugia, can now teach the drum kit.
He sat for all the eight grades, passing his seventh and eighth grade with distinction. Moreover, he passed the ATCL diploma with a distinction.
In 2010, he played the drums at the Valletta Waterfront during Pope Benedict’s visit.
Also in 2010, Camilleri played with an orchestra formed by musicians from eight EU countries in France.
Camilleri currently teaches the percussion and plays with several local bands.
