Nationalist MP Jeffrey Pulicino Orlando said today that he had included the prime minister's communications officer, Gordon Pisani, in his list of witnesses in the case against Richard Cachia Caruana to support his claim that Mr Cachia Caruana had created unrest to the detriment of the prime minister.

Referring to a statement issued yesterday by Mr Pisani, Dr Pullicino Orlando said that in his letter to the PN Executive, he had made three charges against Mr Cachia Caruana – that he colluded with Labour officials, that he colluded with foreign officials, and that he created unrest to the detriment of the prime minister.

Mr Pisani in his statement had denied having any information about Mr Cachia Caruana having colluded with the Labour officials. But, Dr Pullicino Orlando said, Mr Pisani's inclusion in his list of witnesses was over the third claim – of creating unrest.

LIST OF WITNESSES SENT LATE BY MISTAKE

Dr Pullicino Orlando confirmed that he had sent his list of witnesses to PN Executive president Marthese Portelli late yesterday.

He explained that he initially sent it earlier, but made a mistake in the e-mail address. Nonetheless he then re-sent the list later on, and Dr Portelli had confirmed she received it.

Asked whether he would add more witnesses to the list, Dr Pullicino Orlando said it was too early to say.

GORDON PISANI REPLIES

In a reaction, Gordon Pisani said he had been referring to all three claims by Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando when he said yesterday that he considered them as fictional and groundless.

He reiterated that he knew of no information which could in any way serve as a basis for Dr pullicino Orlando's claims against Mr Cachia Caruana.

He said that Dr Pullicino Orlando should be able to understand yesterday's statement and today's.

Mr Pisani said Dr Pullicino Orlando had no right to twist what he said in yesterday's statement.
