Santino Coppa’s national team chalked up their second suc-cessive win in the group phase of the Euro Championship for small states yesterday after beating Scotland 80-57 in Struga, Macedonia.
A strong third session run, along with another fine display on the defensive side of the court, saw the Maltese girls going top of Group A.
Scotland had won their first game against Azerbaijan 73-54 but could do nothing against the holders yesterday.
There were five players on double figures for Malta with Rebecca Brincat Thoresen ending as best scorer with 20 points. Steffi De Martino scored 15, Ashleigh Vella and Josephine Grima 14 and Christina Grima 12.
