U-14 ranking tournament at the TCK

Tennis Club Kordin (TCK), in conjunction with the Malta Tennis Federation, will be hosting this year’s U-14 Tennis Europe tournament at their premises.

For yet another year, the com-petition has attracted a significant number of players from various countries. In fact, the number this time sums up to 130 players – 88 boys and 42 girls.

Competition is expected to be of an exceptionally high level with the best-ranked player in the boys’ category being Daniel Bennett (Great Britain). He is no.27 in Europe.

Krista Cerpina, from Latvia, is seeded no.161 at present.

Malta will be represented by Benjamin Farrugia and Zack Ciappara (boys) and Rebecca McCarthy (ranked 463), Karina Sammut (559), Alexia Cassar and Emily Lightfoot (girls).

The tournament will commence with the qualifying rounds on the weekend of July 28 and 29 with the Main Draw matches scheduled for July 30. The final will be played on August 4.

The tournament is again being sponsored by Simonds Farsons Cisk through their product San Michel.
