A quality standard for Maltese products was launched this afternoon at a Maltese bakery in Valletta.

The standard Naturalment Malti will be given to Malta grown produce of high quality.

Ministers George Pullicino and Jason Azzopardi said during the launch of the standard at Nenu’s Bakery in St Domnic Street, that the products carrying the Naturalment Malti sign had to be produced from products completely grown in Malta in line with a series of technical specifications.

The mark may be used by producer organisations and organisations recognised by the ministry.

The standard may be expanded in future to also cover traditional goods.
