Needless noise

I know it has been written about before but I must object to the needless loud hooting by the gas distributors every morning. As if the clanging of the cylinders themselves is not enough to draw one’s attention to the fact that they are here. The excessive use of the horn is annoying to say the least.

I refer in particular to one of two distributors who visit my neighbourhood in Mosta every Wednesday morning. This driver regales us with a continuous burst of his horn that goes from one corner to the other.

When I was on my way to get the paper last Wednesday I drew his attention to tone it down. He got out of the truck and argued that it was his job. When I said I would take his number (noted) and report him to the authorities, he invited me to go ahead and that I should even note the time (it was barely 7.30 a.m.) As if time was a factor.

May I add that this happened near the Pax Et Bonum rest home!
