Kate Gonzi’s mother, Pawla Callus, died yesterday afternoon, the Nationalist Party said in a press statement.

The party expressed condolences to Mrs Gonzi (wife of Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi), as well as the entire Gonzi and Callus families. Mrs Callus, the party said, was a mother dedicated to her family who brought up her children with love, instilling in them respect for the family and its unity.

She lived according to Catholic principles and passed these principles on to her children.

The Labour Party too expressed its condolences.
