Venus transit
Forgive me if I missed the small print in The Times but, to my aghast, nowhere did I see I any reference to the rare event of the transit of Venus, which took place on June 5.
One presumes that many people have little idea where Venus lies in our constellation. The Times is such a powerful tool to enlighten us all, yet it missed informing readers about the transit.
Waiting and hoping for another transit! Forget it, the next one will take place in December 2117.

Apart from remaining aghast at the use of "aghast", I did have a recollection of articles in The Times. Alook in the archives turned up articles in the 6th and 7th issues. Both had locally-taken photographs of the planet against the disk of the rising sun: one by Mario Facciol of Birzebbugia and the other by Leonard Ellul Mercer of Attard.

Venus in "our constellation"? Our solar system you mean perhaps?

Please excuse an innocent slip. What matters is whether his comment was valid, no?
