Someone, somewhere, in a cool air-conditioned office has the power to say ‘Enough’ and, as Winston Churchill used to say, “Action this day”!
So those who can do something about it will earn the respect and gratitude of many Maltese and tourists alike – as the karozzin issue is now an international boil on the face of Malta along with the bird-killing one.
If a horse collapses in the heat as one did recently, it becomes news in every country Malta depends on for much of its tourism revenue and employment.
One incident like this negates any amount of advertising Malta as a desirable place to spend a holiday. As they say, bad news travels fast.
