Health and safety at home and workplace

Health and safety at the workplace was the topic of a recent seminar by Alberta Safety Solutions, a subsidiary of Alberta Group.

The aim of the seminar was to update the industry with the latest technology and preventive solutions against accidents at the workplace.

The seminar was attended by health and safety managers from private and public companies as well as facilities managers and suppliers. Alberta Safety Solutions specialises in health and safety products and services, including scaffolding, personal protective equipment, protective barriers, chemical and gas containment and fall arresters.

Foreign speakers were brought over specifically to update participants on health and safety methods and procedures. Phil Gorton from George Roberts Ltd spoke about safety at height, including the latest scaffolding systems and EU regulations regarding safety of personnel.

Mike Brodie from Chemstore discussed chemical and gas containment products and standards, while Christian Gafà from Alberta spoke about Asafe protective barriers and personal protective equipment. Valhmor Micallef from the International Safety and Training College discussed health and safety regulations in Malta.

“Health and safety are major concerns at home and at the workplace. Given their significance, the industry is becoming increasingly specialised and this is why Alberta felt it necessary to hold this seminar,” said Adrian Cutajar, sales manager at Alberta Fire, Safety and Security Ltd.
