Valletta start title defence against Tarxien

Valletta will start the defence of their BOV Premier League title against Tarxien Rainbows as the draws for the 2012/13 championships were made this morning at the Grand Hotel Excelsior.

Hibernians, who finished second in the league and won the FA Trophy, face Mosta in their first game of the new season.

The highlight of the opening programme is the Old Firm derby between Sliema Wanderers and Floriana.

The other fixtures of the opening weekend are Birkirkara-Melita, Hamrun Spartans-Balzan and Rabat Ajax-Qormi.

The first clash between rivals Valletta and Hibs will take place on the sixth day of the season which will run from August 17 to May 4, 2013.
