Over the last 12 months, the postal service at St George’s Road, St Paul’s Bay has been what some may describe as pathetic.

Letters are being delivered to the wrong letter boxes, which are clearly numbered and named. For example, letters addressed to Marpin block are being delivered to other blocks further down the street, parcels don’t arrive, notifications are just strewn across a row of letter boxes indicating the postman had tried to deliver a package but no one answered.

The postman rides down the street on his motorcycle, grabs a bunch of letters, which, I presume, are sorted by block, and either leaves them hanging out of the wrong letter boxes or posts them willy nilly in any order and fashion he deems fit.

Most letters don’t even belong in our block and, with regard to parcels, I have never seen him once climb stairs to make a delivery.

Another postman I had questioned about this state of affairs replied: “Sorry, madam, I am covering for the other guy on his day off but I apologise and you are not the first person to stop me and complain about this matter.”

This situation has been brought to the attention of Maltapost but still carries on. We are fortunate enough to have considerate people living in the street who actually deliver the post to the right addresses after finding wrongly - mailed letters in their boxes. Hopefully, this matter will be resolved once this letter appears.
