A three-month public consultation process has been launched by Consumer Affairs Minister Jason Azzopardi to help formulate a national strategy for consumer rights regulations.
The process seeks to encourage and guide consumers to make better choices. The participation of various stakeholders will decide the direction the strategy is to take in the context of current and future realities.
A document prepared by the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority contains more than 70 questions in a bid to stimulate discussion.
Replies and suggestions may be sent to info@mccaa.org.mt before the end of September.
Dr Azzopardi was grateful to a range of organisations, among them the European Consumer Centre and the Consumers Association for their contribution. A new consumers group has just been registered by the National Council of Women.
