Arriva workers return to GWU

Most Arriva workers who resigned from the GWU a few days ago have now withdrawn their resignation, the GWU said this afternoon.

It said it will be informing the company of the development.

The GWU said that Arriva employees were realising that only the GWU was able to safeguard their interests and that it was doing its best to get them the best conditions.

The union said that another long meeting was held with the company yesterday during which its proposals for the first collective agreement continued to be discussed. Another meeting is being held on Saturday.

Yesterday, the union insisted that meetings should continue to be held regularly for an agreement to be reached within three weeks.

It appealed to workers to remain united within the union to give it the strength it needed to negotiate.

Mela insejt meta I-UHM talbet żieda fil-ġimgħa ta' LM9 jew *22 euro* tal-lum fl-1997, u marret tagħmel strajk il-freeport? Kul UNION għandha simpatija lejn xi partit, b'differenza, min fejn tħares, jew jekk tilbess nuċċali b'lenti blue jew ħomor. Insejt kemm il- UHM daqqet trumbetti favur l-EWROPA Ħabieb? Għax ma tejdx li it-tarzna kien hemm skopp biex ifalluha. Nemmen li la jinkixfu il-borom, jek il- ħniena t'ALLA tried, toħroġ intiena qawwija f'dal-pajjiż. Il-ħaddiem għamel passi ta ġgant bis-saħħa tal-GWU. Ħa infakrek punti kardinali, 52 sibt vaganza għal ħaddiema, min 8, telaw għal 20 ġurnata leave, nisa u irġiel listess PAGA, paga minima bi dritt diċenti, dritt ta' tribunal f'każ ta' tkeċċieja ta ħaddiem, terminal benifits għal min jispiċċa bla xogħol. Dak l-izbal li qiegħed jagħmel il-ħaddiem Malti li nesa min fejn telaq. U zball akbar min One TV u One Radio+PL, li mhux ifakkru li dal poplu min xix għadda.

@Mr.Tabone,
Can you please stop trying to denigrate us labour supporters, by calling us elves. Do not stoop so low in trying to diminish Labour's image. If you have any problem and you want to meet me I'm far from being an elf. Hope you are not in the business and hate the unions, so you can pay your employees peanuts.
