The recent spate of disloyalty to the Nationalist Party by several members, who are well known by now, elicits the thought that if they are so dissatisfied with life within the party, why are they still there?
Surely, the honourable thing to do would be to resign the whip and set up as independents and take their message to the people when the next election is due. After all, it was the cloak of the party that enabled them to get where they are now. Could they survive outside it? I think there would be a question about the viability of that.
The apparent discontent of the public with the PN partly has to do with the unrest caused by these malcontents.
When you have cancer the answer is to cut it out.
I am not a supporter of either party but, as an unbiased person, I feel loyalty cuts both ways: you support the party and the party will support you.
