Hibs midfielder named MFA Footballer of the Year

Hibs midfielder Clayton Faillia has been named MFA Footballer of the Year for season 2011-12.

Failla, who had also won this award in season 2008-09, was presented with the prestigious MFA Footballer of the Year Trophy during the association's awards night held this evening at the Grand Hotel Excelsior.

Failla, 26, was on of the best players for Hibs last season, his performances helping the Paolites to finish second in the Premier League and win the U*Bet FA Trophy.

The other four finalists for the MFA Footballer of the Year award were Andrew Cohen, of Hibs, and Valletta trio William Barbosa, Denni and Jonathan Caruana.

Valletta midfielder Roderick Briffa won last year's award.
