Internet services suffer from GO submarine cable fault
GO said this evening that a technical problem on one of its international submarine cables to Sicily has caused a degradation of the internet service to customers.
"While technical teams are working to rectify the fault in the shortest time possible, contingency plans have already been put into action to use alternative GO infrastructure to minimize the impact," the company said.
Further updates will be issued once more information becomes available.
The company apologised to its clients.

Dear GO ---- when a person is one day overdue on payments, why don't you just ask for an apology instead of fining one euro? what's good for the goose is good for the gander

It's about time we GO customer get compensated. I personally have been reporting faults/internet issues almost once every month -- This is becoming too much.

I am living in Qawra with my small antenna facing Selmun and recently I had nearly the same problem
I solved the problem by
switching off the Decoder switch on after ten to twenty seconds
Clean the card and replace
Soon as you place the card it will reread the programmes and everything should be OK.

The GO TV service in the north of Malta is suffering due to,, what customer service say, is interference from Italy since they changed to digital on the 19th June.
In Saint Paul's Bay, we have not been able to receive Rai, Mediaset, Travel Channel, Euro Channel ,CNN and others since then.
Numerous calls and emails have been sent to GO, but the service has not improved.
Can GO compensate or pay back for the service lost; after all they still charge us the full amount.
Is the Malta Communication Authority doing anything about this?

I'm suffering from long hours of frustration because of this degradation of GO's internet service. At present, on an average of 24 hours, I hardly get 5 hours of service, with continuous interruptions. I think that GO's real problem is that they take in more subscribers than their service can cater for!!! These interruptions will continue unless they upgrade their infrastructure. We want fast reliable service, not convenient apologies.

That is not the only problem, Malta now has.
Malta is facing whole sites being blocked by Italy.
What on Earth happened to our Sovereignty?, Are we again part of Italy as in ancient times?
Why do we have to bow down to foreign regimes?

Where are you getting this mistaken view from? Do you think that Italians will configure their routers to block websites from being downloaded to Malta? Perhaps not unless they are illegal. If these sites are illegal then (a) you have no business trying to access them without being blocked when doing so and (b) authorities are well within their right to block them. We are a sovereign nation but we also co-exist among other sovereign nations; this is not a veiled anti-EU stance on your part, is it? Just any other excuse

what I'd like to know what (if any) compensation will GO customers be getting.
this must really be hurting their current ad campagin.
I think I'll just stick with the other one...

Why is it that it's always GO customers suffering from such 'accidents'? These are becoming way too frequent!! And how come we never hear that other providers suffer from such faults? And it's always the usual lame apology from GO.
Now this will take a couple of days to repair but at the end of the month we'll have a bill for the FULL month @ the same speed!!! Just try loading a video from Youtube and it'll take a number of minutes to load!!
GO - is THIS the revolution!!?? Then count me out!!
