Telecoms company Go will be taking action to end the interference of high levels of radio frequency with its television service.

In a statement, the telecom service company said it will be performing a “technical work-around” tonight to solve the interference.

This was caused by the TV switchover process currently in progress in the south of Sicily, which negatively affected a number of channels in certain areas, in some cases leading to loss of channels.

The company said TV customers using a Set Top Box (STB) who still experience problems tomorrow should scroll through the channels to trigger another automatic re-tune of the STB.

Other customers will need to follow their TV set instructions to perform a further re-tune on their sets to refresh the channel list. This operation will help to normalise many – but not necessarily all – of the affected channels.

The company said it was still working closely with the Malta Communications Authority and international authorities to find a permanent solution for those TV channels that were still experiencing interference.
