Spain recorded the biggest European Championship final win of all time to as they claimed a 4-0 victory over Italy and became the first team to win three successive tournaments.
Leading through first-half goals from David Silva and Jordi Alba, Spain's victory was sealed when final substitute Thiago Motta was stretchered off, leaving the Azzurri to play the final half hour with 10 men.

All I can say is that it was an exciting game. With goals, drama and lots of action. I don't really care whether Italy or Spain won as I side with none but I believe Spain deserved to win and Italy could not have been more unlucky than that. It was a final worth watching.
As for the comments below, I agree that thanks to the fact that Spain won at least we were left to sleep in peace without horns and unwanted, unasked-for, unneeded horns and other noises.

Spain crushed Italy to a humiliating 4-0 score, winning the title they deserve. Although, the score was suppose to end 5-0 with Spain being deprived from a penalty as usual same as Germany who were deprived from Pirlo's penalty.
Spain did show that they are good and the best.

It-talenti gejjin mill-bliet ta' Barcellona u Madrid kienu wisq superjuri
ghat-team ghajjin ta' Cesare Prandelli.
Nahseb li team Taljan raqad wisq fuq il-wirjet li ta'
kontra l-Inglizi u l-Germamizi u hasbu li kollox hu 'forgranted'.
Sadanittant nghid 'forza italia' ghaliex xorta mortu tajjeb,f'din
Euro 2012.

WELL DONE ! My favourite team ITALIA lost against a Wonder team ! On the other hand I am still satisfied with the overall performance of the AZZURRI. Only three days before they eliminated competition favourites Germany. Once again they left the competition on its very last day !

Come on, was there really any doubt? The Spanish saved the best for last. With all respect to Italy with whom I was siding tonight, the Italians didn't even finish tying their shoe laces and the game was already over! Please.
I wasn't even born when the Italians lost by such a margin in 1970 but the Spanish really showed no mercy tonight. Really disappointing from the Azzuri, I was expecting a lot more discipline from them.

It should have been five as there was a penalty, and he did touch the ball .
A good game, but it is a pity that such a large score demoralised Italy so much that they gave up .
I do not like a game being settled with penalties but at least the game remains active till the very end.
Spain deserved to win,
