The Scottish Football Association are studying details of Sevco’s plans for reviving Rangers as debate continues over what level the Ibrox club should play at next season.
Sevco submitted documents late Friday relating to their application to assume Rangers’ SFA membership having already bought the assets and business.
Chief executive Charles Green had sent a letter applying for membership seven days earlier but the SFA requested details about the investors and the officials’ suitability for running a football club along with their plans.
It was agreed that Green would provide the details before this weekend.
A SFA spokesperson said: “We can confirm that we have received, through our lawyers, an information pack from Sevco Scotland relevant to their membership application, which we will review in early course.”
Green still has to find a league to play in with Scottish Football League clubs still to be convinced about the merits of putting the newco Rangers into the First Division.
Carrying on where Rangers left off in the Premier League looks even more unlikely with St Mirren now joining six other clubs in opposing the move.
Also, Dunfermline yesterday said they would not approve any plan that put the Gers in the First Division if they were given a vote, joining Morton, Raith Rovers and Falkirk in rejecting the idea.
Dunfermline were relegated from the SPL last season but would not return under plans submitted to SFL clubs, which also include promotion play-offs and a merger of the two league bodies.
Meanwhile, Hamilton have not made their decision known but chairman Les Gray is highly sceptical over the plan.
Gray said: “My personal view is that clubs in the First Division would never vote for Rangers to be admitted.
“Morally, for reasons of football integrity in particular, I think they should have to apply for entry to the Third Division.”
