International Vocational College Malta, St Julian’s, recently held its first graduation ceremony at the IVC theatre. Students graduated in the Diploma in Enterprise and entrepreneurship and the Jamie Oliver Home Cooking Course Level 3.

The diploma syllabus covered a wide range of subjects such as business in an international context, financial and business planning, market research, presentation, leadership and teamwork, branding, e-marketing, and legislation.

Each graduating student prepared a video demonstrating their business idea and how it would survive as a trading concern.

The diploma certificates were presented by Vassallo Group chairman Nazzareno Vassallo and Btec representative Eddie Connor.

The diploma qualification is a three-term, one-year course equivalent to Level 3 Edexcel Btec and Level 4 of the Malta Qualifications Framework, and is equivalent to an A-level. It is mainly aimed at 17- to 20-year olds.

The students gain not only a qualification but also hands-on work experience through a series of placements in the Vassallo Group and its diverse trading activities.

The college will hold an open day on July 17 at 7 p.m. at its premises in Mensija Street, St Julian’s, for registrations for next years’ Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.
