Labour leader Joseph Muscat has called for tolerance, respect for everyone's rights and equality in a message issued for Gay Pride Week.

He said that  that such aims could only be achieved if the government  truly believed in equality and understood and respected the love between two persons, without interfering in what they did in their bedroom.

Dr Muscat's video message  entitled A Fair Society - It gets better, was prepared for for Pride Week, organised by the Malta Gay Rights Movement.  The footage is part of an international campaign shown on wwww.itgetsbetter.org

The Opposition leader that the society which he wished to live in should not only be tolerant but should embrace, understand and grant rights to all couples and all families, Dr Muscat said.
